House Ways
Playing Fair — Our House Rules in Full
The eight rules we ask every guest to keep, plus the small print behind why we ask them.
At the Door
Before You Sit Down
- Adults only, 18 and over — photo ID is asked of anyone who looks under thirty, without exception.
- Reserving a seat at the felt is a different booking from reserving a table for supper; neither stands in for the other.
- Turning up without a booking is fine on quieter nights, but Friday and Saturday tables fill early.
- Coats and bags stay at the small rack by the door, not draped over a chair at a full table.
Around the Felt
How Chips Move Through a Session
| Stage | What Happens | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Start | Chips counted out, six stacks a player | House dealer checks the count |
| Mid-evening | Chips move between players only | They mark points, never cash |
| Interval | Supper trays come round the felt | Chips stay on the table |
| Close | Chips swept back into the drawer | Nothing leaves the room with you |
